1. Call your bank to switch your SUN

You need your own service user number (SUN) and Woods Valldata's Bureau number. A SUN is your unique six digit number that's used by Bacs to tell which organisation it is collecting payments by direct debit. You'll have your own SUN assigned to your charity or even particular products within your charity. Banks use your SUN to put the right reference on the direct debit payers bank statement so they can see who the payment was made to and who to go to for any queries. So, to get started with the switch, simply instruct your bank to add Woods Valldata as a bureau to your SUN with access to reports.

2. Send us your data files

We work with you to make this process as easy as possible.  We'll need to receive and upload your data files containing your contacts and active direct debit instructions, plus your recent live payment files. With this information we can start setting up your direct debit processing... and we're almost ready to go.

3. Leave the rest to us

Your direct debits are in safe hands. Once you've given us the go-ahead, we will:

  • run test submissions to ensure everything is as it should be
  • analyse recent live payment files to validate accuracy against instruction files - essentially a data health-check
  • test imports and exports
